PETALING JAYA: The St Francis Xavier Cathedral in Keningau, Sabah, was vandalised today.
“An unfortunate and unexpected incident occurred this morning at the St Francis Xavier Cathedral in Keningau at around 7.30am when an unknown individual entered the church after mass and damaged a statue and a cross,” said the diocese of Keningau in a Facebook post.about:blank
“We hope the congregants and the public will be patient and refrain from speculating and making assumptions.”
It said the district police criminal investigation unit was investigating the matter.
Keningau police chief Nor Rafidah Kasim said she would issue a statement later today.
