Grab drivers stage rally at Jakarta office

Drivers of application-based ride-hailing company Grab staged a rally on Monday in front of the company’s office at the Lippo building in Kuningan, South Jakarta. The drivers said they were disappointed to not meet high-ranking officials from the company. “We are demanding to meet and convey our aspirations to Grab’s CEO, not representatives,” said Dedi Heryantoni, a representative of the drivers. Grab wants to track drivers’ habits – even when they are not on the job

SINGAPORE – Ride-hailing firm Grab is seeking to track its drivers’ locations and habits, even when they are not ferrying passengers – raising eyebrows among some industry players and drivers at a time when data breaches are in the news.
